World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase 3percent of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is used (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrader method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Leveling

Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrade an item it will be replaced with the new item. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrader mod also comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as the Best item upgrader version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the level of their available equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade item an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value.
