Seats

The majority of triple buggies begin life as single pushchairs, but some models can be converted to accommodate an additional seat or carrycot using adapters (these are more commonly found in tandem buggies). You'll also find that some models allow you to add a ride-on board for older children who want to walk but still need some assistance.

For a light-weight alternative that's ideal for urban streets, look into the Joie Evalite Duo. It's easy to move and comes with a large basket that is full of storage. It can accommodate twins from at birth and can accommodate two car seats, or a carrycot with a seat. However, the seats have to be oriented forward and there's no space for a shopping bag under which is why you'll need a backpack for this.

If you're looking to take off-road trips, the Mountain Buggy Duet is a excellent option. It's a side-by- tandem with the smallest footprint of any double buggy that is available. This allows it to fit through narrow doors and on public transport, and allows you to climb up and down kerbs without much trouble. It also has a handbrake that is attached to the adjustable handlebar to provide additional security and safety.

The iCandy Orange is one of the most well-known double buggies on the market due to its outstanding comfort. It's an all-terrain pushchair with soft suspension to make light work of bumpy surfaces. It offers 30 different seating configurations and a built-in board for older children who like walking, and a "cinema mode' that raises the back seats for better visibility.

Alternatively, the phil&teds dot is a brilliant single buggy from day 1 that is able to easily be adapted to take 2 (or 3 wheeled pushchairs!) Multiple configurations are possible. This is particularly useful for parents who have children in a car. The frame can be affixed to a wedgie, which permits optimal lie-flat positioning. Or car seat adapters that can be used with various brands.

Suspension

The quality of the suspension in a 3 wheel baby buggy-wheel double buggy is essential to how it will be easy for you and your child to push. A smooth ride is vital because babies feel every bump on the road, especially when it's in rough terrain such as grass or dirt roads. Certain models also have locking front wheels to assist with maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.

Some models have tyres with air filled that are great for all-terrain riding, but they can be prone punctures. Be sure to keep an extra set of tyres inside the trunk. Folding

A three-wheel double buggy could be folded in a neat manner to store it. You can find options that fold flat and then stand up (as when they were in a pushchair) and also those that pop up to reveal more of an umbrella-style fold with an electric brake. The more wheels a buggy has, in general the more easy it will be to maneuver through rough terrain. This is especially true if the wheels are larger than average size.
