UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time the handles on your doors will wear out and need to be changed. When replacing them, it is crucial that the new handles conform to the dimensions of the previous handle.

Inline Lever/Lever

Lever Pad

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. This reveals pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is essential; it is dependent on how your door and handle are used. Doors that are external, for instance, should be fitted with higher security cylinders and doors inside can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that increase security, such as anti-drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be measured correctly to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place, but if this is not possible, you can take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon might be susceptible to attacks like snapping locks, therefore it is crucial that it is not too long.

Most modern cylinders are constructed with anti-drill and bump resistance features built into their design. These features are designed to minimize the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in the opposite direction. This will help deflect the attack, and keep your door safe.

Certain cylinders are made to resist snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is much quicker and more straightforward than opening the victorian door handle with multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a break-in which can hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

They have an elongated square that allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
