What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Costs

Upgrades come with some associated costs. The first is the upgrade itself. It can be costly and depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number perks it gains. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a higher level (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the cost of the materials required to upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21+) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). These materials can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

Another method to increase the odds of a successful upgrade is by using the item known as Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is useful in the event that you have an item of gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It allows you to upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without risking breaking.
